I've been sick since yesterday morning, when I woke up and found that I could only talk in a hoarse growl. Later in the day it progressed to an aspiring sore throat, which I tried desperately to stamp out by guzzling large amounts of apple cider vinegar in water. That helped, but now I seem to have something else. No fever, but just this weird tenderness on my flesh when I touch it, a swollen lymph node on my neck (the one that swelled up really big when I was a kid, then went back almost to normal, and sometimes rises to the occasion to herald the invasion of some foreign protein).
It's not serious, really, I'm just feeling poorly. I think I'll just go to bed. I'm not writing this to alarm anybody, I think I just need some rest.
Oh, and my computer (msn actually) decided to give me a virus scare. As if my poor nerves weren't already shaken enough. If anyone sends you a picture file, and tells you something like "Hey, check out this picture of us, it's really cute", I guess it is common sense to check with that person as to whether they actually intended to send you the picture. But I didn't. I don't even remember taking any pictures with this girl, but she was not so distant a contact as to make it utterly unfeasible that she would send me a picture. Windows refused to open the zipped file, and that was when I panicked and rang the girl up: "Did you just send me a picture?"
"Uh... no"
"Crap! Crap! WhatdoIdo! Virus! Virus! Help!"
"Don't worry.. your msn will hang and then lots of other people will start spamming you the same file. Just delete the file from your computer completely. Try to restart msn."
I ended the call. Then my msn really started to hang. At the same time, a bunch of friends and I were in a group chat window getting ready to Dota. Also, I was messaging Steve in a panic: "I just got a msn virus!" My phone rang: it was some friend from the States who was now working in Singapore. "Hi! How are you?" I was a little hysterical: "I'm.... fine! Just got a computer virus!" And my msn closed down completely. *!!!*
I restarted msn. Still in a tizzy -- I was worried I would start spamming people -- I posted in bold letters on my nick "DON'T ACCEPT ANY FILES FROM ME... VIRUS!!!". I messaged my brother in a panic: "Did you get any files from me?" "No...?" "Oh, ok." Some more people started spamming me the virus too, including the same girl whom I got all that trouble from. I messaged her: "You really ought to put some kind of warning on your nick, you know."

Oh. Well, that was nice. My msn stayed on. Negotiations for the upcoming Dota game seemed to be drawing to a favourable conclusion. An ip was spammed. Before I joined the Dota game, I felt light-hearted enough to make an addendum to my nick -
Virus!! Lets paniiiic! AAA-. By that time I was almost over the worst of the virus scare.
I then tried sending CY something on msn to scare him -- some mp3 file, a Mr Brown podcast -- to my surprise, he accepted it: "Mp3 files don't usually come with viruses." "Oh. Well that's good to know, heh heh." Yes, CY is our friendly neighbourhood computer expert. According to him, the virus sent over msn is usually a worm, that is, something that replicates itself by sending multiple files to other users, and does not usually harm the computer. That's good to know too.
As I said earlier, it's really not that serious. And now I think I'll just go to bed.
