Where your heart is

"Want the things you care about, desire them , strategize to get them-but never take them seriously. Play at getting them, play hard, play as if the game were a war game. But then, after the war, after the strategizing, learn to treat these very things you want indifferently... You play with them, fight for them but...Don't count on any of them or you become their slave"

A month in a capsule

Waaah... so long never blog...

Too many things have transpired, so where shall I start from? To begin with, this ex-invalid had been languishing at home for several days, taking medicine (panadol (??) and expectorant pills) prescribed by an incompetant doctor in the 24-hour clinic she visited shortly after she arrived back home without her antibiotics and inhaler and cough syrup. The medicine was not effective. I coughed for four more nights straight, rather depriving both me and my mother of sleep during that trying time. I was scarcely well enough to travel before the family went to Penang where my aunt, a doctor, prescribed antibiotics, but it was another four nights before I managed to sleep the entire night through.

Anyway I'm back in Sg now kipping over in my brother's room while I straighten out some issues related to my student exchange this semester. I've finally bought the plane ticket and gotten the visa fixed, so that part is solved, at least. Not so my accommodation in Wuhan, because they have not replied at all to my email, and I am supposed to call them, but haven't yet *headache*. I've really no idea when I will be back in Sg too, but hopefully it is by 1st July. Butbut... exams last till 8th July, so I'll just have to hope that none of the subjects I really want have late exams, because I have to apply for pupillage in July.

Now, more than a fortnight has passed in PGP, so easily, in games and fun, the time made even more precious by my awareness of its transience, although poisoned by the thought that I shall soon leave this merry, easy, group of people. But let us have no regrets here, I shall have a whole host of experiences awaiting me in Wuhan, and anyway it is only for 5 months. 5 months could go by in a flash, and can also seem tortuously long to someone at its beginning. Who knows what changes 5 months could bring? But anyway it is pointless to think so much about something so uncertain.
